The jnet Portal provides the facility to attach legally binding Terms and Conditions to contractor accounts that must be agreed to before the contractor can proceed into the system.
This includes fully editable Terms and Conditions text that is presented to the contractor when he/she first signs in. The contractor must tick a box to confirm that they have fully read, understood and agreed to all of the terms and conditions as set out. The contractor cannot log in or access any system functions until this has been done. On accepting the conditions they are also emailed to the contractor and the date is recorded within the system.
The contractor's account can be set up by the umbrella company's admin staff, however only the contractor is able to tick the box and thereby give their legal acceptance.
This system of terms acceptance, known as a clickwrap agreement is fully compliant with applicable UK/EU laws and statutes. More information:
